LAUSD
I work for the Los Angeles Unified School District as an IT Technician I. I fix broken computers and classroom equipment, and maintain the computers and equipment that is not broken.
Working in customer service, it is important for the customer to feel like it is never their fault that something broke. If people feel like they are being scolded or chastised for doing something that broke their stuff, they are not going to trust you. Above being able to fix whatever it is that they broke, you need to be able to listen to them. I am great at doing that.
Certifications
CompTIA A+
In order to get my helpdesk job I got the CompTIA A+ to show that I am competent in resolving computer related issues; and to prove that I have a large swath of knowledge when it comes to technology.
CCNA
I am currently studying for my CCNA. My hope is to work in SecOps and networking is currently a weakness of mine. The plan is to pass the CCNA before February and to start studying for the CCNP Security certification.
